Reviving Huntington’s Film Scene with Dylan Smith
In this episode, we have a special treat: local filmmaker Dylan Smith returns to the studio! Dylan shares his passion for resurrecting Huntington’s historic Foundry Theater, now home to his “Lil Dill’s Foundry Flashbacks” film series, which brings Appalachian-flavored cinema—along with surprise guests—to the community.
Dylan gives us behind-the-scenes details about upcoming events at the Foundry, including an incredible evening with legendary actor Brad Dourif (of Chucky and Lord of the Rings fame) returning to Huntington for a live Q&A and screening of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
We also get a taste of the area’s rich film heritage, anecdotes about bringing cult classic “Teenage Strangler” back to the big screen, stories of local movie legends like Wally Hale, and a peek at all the hauntingly good Halloween plans lined up.
